Irony? Obama Criticized Bush Debt as “Irresponsible,” “Unpatriotic”

If you don’t know how much I hate our $15 trillion debt, you haven’t been reading this blog enough.

Oh, and I’m certainly not a fan of double standards either. Our President, however, is just fine with them…

I was poking around the internet when I stumbled up this gem. The footage is from a 2008 Obama campaign rally in Fargo, ND. Listen very carefully to what he says, or maybe rewind the video and watch it again. I know I had too, because hearing these comments from the President’s mouth seemed more than a little surreal:

Really? Adding $4 trillion to the national debt is irresponsible and unpatriotic? What about adding $5 trillion in half the time?

Bring up the debt issue with any liberal and they’ll point out that Bush added to it too. But if Bush’s deficits were “irresponsible” and “unpatriotic,” where does that leave Obama’s?
